One of the most impressive places in Costa Rica. In fact, National Geographic has called it the jewel in the crown of cloud forest reserves, owing to its impressive nature and biodiversity. What's more, the newspaper La Nación has named it one of the Seven Wonders of Costa Rica. The area houses the Monteverde Forest Reserve, a private nature reserve where you can visit and even stay overnight. Nevertheless, the surroundings are frequented by tourists, as this is the departure point for the main hiking trails in the area. Another of the biggest private nature reserves is the Children's Eternal Rain Forest, home to over 400 birds from all over the world, butterflies and bats.
“The resorts were excellent and accommodation very good.
“The hotels met or exceeded expectations and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Our guides were very interesting and informative. My main interest was the wildlife and the included tours were excellent. I was pleasantly surprised by the small groups so we never felt like hapless tourists being herded around!”
“The trip was an excellent taste of Costa Rica, with the different locations. All the hotels were very good as were the meals provided. All the transfers were very prompt or early & very efficient, the minibuses were clean & smart as were the drivers.”
“The excursions that you chose were all fantastic and the guides/drivers were all brilliant. Everything ran on time and felt safe and understood. Thank you for a fantastic unforgettable holiday. ”
