Perito Moreno is the best known glacier in Patagonia. Situated on the shore of Argentino Lake, in the province of Santa Cruz. Its main attraction is the southern arm of Argentino Lake, which cracks slightly every day, to the point that every four to five years, it breaks altogether due to the force of the water. The spectacle which last occurred in March 2016 and was widely broadcast on television is witnessed by thousands of tourists. There is a viewpoint walkway nearby which allows you to admire it from above, as well as a range of optional boat trips to bring you closer to the glacier.
Visiting Perito Moreno
“The organisation which included tours, transfers and internal flights was excellent. Local tour companies were spot on with communication and we had friendly English speaking tour guides throughout. We knew the trip would be 'full-on' to fit in everything scheduled but it was just fantastic and worth the effort.”
“‘Stunning locations and great to explore so much in such a short space of time.’
“‘The hotel in Rio was excellent and in an amazing position. The airport pickups were all waiting for us on arrival and the pickups and guides for the tours were all punctual, friendly and informative.’
