Located 13.5 km from the Ecuadorian capital, the Middle City of the World houses a monument formed by a flagstone obelisk and a globe that symbolizes our planet, indicating the exact location of the line of the equator through which the country received its name.
To be literally in the middle of the world and to take an iconic photograph on the equatorial line is an inescapable experience and you can also enjoy crossing from one hemisphere to the other.
“Would recommend it to anyone who asked.”
“We had a fantastic time! Our guide Julio was excellent and nothing was too much trouble. He was very informative and answered many questions from the group. He really looked after us exceptionally well. Our driver Jaime was also excellent. He drove us safely from one place to the next, covering many miles.”
