The vibrant capital of Nepal never stops. This city of over a million inhabitants was a mecca of the hippies in the 1970s. Today it is a magnet for mountaineers from all over the world to prepare their expeditions. Part of the temples of Durbar Square were levelled in the earthquake this year, but the city has now returned to normality.
