Over 200 years have passed since the Swiss explorer Johann Ludwig Burckhardt arrived in the lost city of Petra, disguised as an Arab. Since then, this city carved from a rock by the Nabateans has captured the imagination of all who visit, From the long rock entrance passage known as the Siq which opens out into Al-Khazneh, The Treasury, a building which appears in the Indiana Jones films. The adjacent mountains hide other beauties to be found, such as a Roman amphitheatre and the Ad-Deir monastery, even more spectacular than Al-Khazneh.
“I thought that the trip was excellent value for money and the itinerary was comprehensive for the number of days we had.”
“‘Our guide, Wahide, was a terrific guide with lots of knowledge, and looked after us very well.’
“'We were lucky enough to have the guide, Khalid, to ourselves throughout the trip and found him to be extremely informative and knowledgeable about the country and also very good with time-keeping and ensuring that the tour ran smoothly. The guides were also thoughtful about the heat and also about the best way to see the sites before the crowds. We visited a great variety of Jordan’s most stunning sights, including iconic Petra, which we enjoyed walking around, even climbing up to the vantage point which gave us a great birds-eye view of the ancient city.'
“‘The meet and greet was spot on and the guide and driver were very good and commendable.’
