Over 200 years have passed since the Swiss explorer Johann Ludwig Burckhardt arrived in the lost city of Petra, disguised as an Arab. Since then, this city carved from a rock by the Nabateans has captured the imagination of all who visit, From the long rock entrance passage known as the Siq which opens out into Al-Khazneh, The Treasury, a building which appears in the Indiana Jones films. The adjacent mountains hide other beauties to be found, such as a Roman amphitheatre and the Ad-Deir monastery, even more spectacular than Al-Khazneh.
“Petra itself was far more extensive than we had been led to believe. The early morning start was certainly justified as it enabled us to see virtually the whole of the ancient city. ”
“The highlight for me was our day at Petra but also loved "bobbing about" in the Dead Sea, visiting Mount Nebo & staying in Wadi Rum desert. I did camel trekking at Wadi Rum which was magical.”
“We had a wonderful time in Jordan. From the moment we arrived at the airport we were looked after amazingly. The desert trip in a 4x4 was also stunning as was the stay over at the wadi camp, ”
“The excursions were very good & conducted by our very knowledgable guide who spoke good English.”
“I thought that the trip was excellent value for money and the itinerary was comprehensive for the number of days we had.”
