Arrive at your UK departure airport, ready for a flight to Warsaw. Arrive in Warsaw, the capital of Poland and home to a vast array of architecture, showcasing its turbulent history. Gothic cathedrals stand side-by-side with Soviet-era blocks and modern skyscrapers. Transfer to the hotel. Leisure time and welcome dinner at 20:00. Overnight stay in Warsaw.
Breakfast at the hotel. Enjoy a half-day tour of Warsaw, including the Royal Route with its famous statues, buildings and churches, the Royal Lazienki Park to see Chopin’s monument and the Old Town area with the Royal Castle Square, St John’s Cathedral, the Old Market Square. In the afternoon transfer to Gdansk, a historic port-town that was almost entirely destroyed in WWII. Overnight stay in Gdansk.
Breakfast at the hotel. Enjoy a half-day sightseeing tour of Gdansk. Soak up the charm of the city and see the Old Town's most fascinating sights such as Dluga Street, Neptune Fountain and Artus Court. Afterwards, head to Oliwa to visit the Oliwa Cathedral, famous for its impressive Rococo pipe-organ. Also, explore Sopot a Baltic spa city and walk along the pier, the longest in Europe. Return to Gdansk for an overnight stay.
Breakfast at the hotel. Set off towards Torun, with en route visit to the imposing Teutonic Knights’ Castle in Malbork. Spend the afternoon sightseeing in Torun with a guided tour of the Old Town, home to unique examples of Gothic architecture including churches, burgher’s houses and defensive walls. Overnight stay in Torun.
Breakfast at the hotel. Today, set off for Wroclaw, which sits on the Oder River in Western Poland. Upon arrival enjoy a guided tour of the Old Town with its charming tenement houses and Town Hall on the Market Square. Explore Ostrow Tumski – the oldest part of the city to get a feel for the history of Wroclaw. Overnight stay in Wroclaw.
Breakfast at the hotel. Set off in the direction of Krakow, with stops in Czestochowa and Auschwitz. Visit the Jasna Gora Monastery in Czestochowa, home to the famous Black Madonna. Afterwards, arrive in Auschwitz for a poignant guided tour of the former Nazi concentration camp used in WWII. Transfer to Krakow, a well preserved medieval city with a thriving Old Town and a fascinating Jewish Quarter. Overnight stay in Krakow.
Breakfast at the hotel. Today, enjoy an excursion to the Wieliczka Salt Mine, included in the UNESCO “Human Heritage” list. Afterwards, return to Krakow for a half-day tour of the city including the Wawel Hill and the Royal Castle Chambers, the Old Town area with the Barbican, Florianska Gate and Collegium Maius courtyard. Be charmed by the Old Town's Market Square and ornate entrance to St Mary’s Church. Overnight in Krakow.
Breakfast at the hotel, transfer to the airport for a flight back to the UK. Arrive in the UK and end your trip.
