An open-air museum showcasing some of the most important and best preserved ruins in the Mediterranean. In fact, this is the best preserved archaeological zone in the world. Founded by the Ionians in the 10th century B.C., this city was raided by the Romans, Persians and Lydians, amongst others. One of the main attractions is the Temple of Artemis, considered to be one of the Seven Ancient Wonders of the World. In its library, you can also find tens of thousands of parchments.
