Best time to visit Romania

The best time to travel to Romania depends on the region you intend to visit. This is because of its location and topography, which result in three different climatic zones. The east, the west and the south experience a variety of different temperatures.

Before deciding when to travel to Romania you should take into account the climatic characteristics of this European country. In the area west of the Carpathians the climate is quite moderate, with humid summers and mild winters.

In the eastern region of Romania, there is a continental climate, which results in considerable temperature differences between summer and winter. In this region, the winters are very cold and the summers are very hot.

The coastal region of the Black Sea, as well as that of southern Romania, enjoys Mediterranean influences. This translates into warm summers and relatively mild winters. In this area, the average temperature in winter is around 5°C. In spring the thermometer rises to 10°C, reaching 26°C in July and August.

However, we can say that the best time to travel to Romania is between May and September. April and October still have a good temperature, so these could also be good months to visit this country.
