Where to travel in July

Choosing the best destination to travel to in July is not too difficult. The weather is sunny and any destination with a warm climate will be a perfect spot to enjoy a holiday. Wherever you decide to go, you’ll find a relaxed atmosphere, people in good spirits, happiness, events, festivals and music anywhere around the world.

Where to travel in July

So, July is the ideal month to go on holiday. If you haven’t yet made a decision, take note of these suggestions.

New Orleans

It has been more than a decade since Katrina devastated more than three-quarters of this Louisiana city. However, the French Quarter stands as it always has: a lively district with restaurants and bars with a genuine touch and lots of live jazz. Even so, some traces of the disaster remain in the area and many citizens have not yet returned to their homes.

Why is New Orleans one of the best destinations for travel in July? For the authenticity of the Old South and its splendid sunshine. It really is hot all year round in this city, and there’s some humidity as it’s located between lakes, bays, and bayous which are the numerous streams and meanders that form the Mississippi River. Life on the streets is bustling, both day and night, the Victorian houses are incredible and you can enjoy plenty of trips around the surrounding areas. New Orleans also stands out for its gastronomy, with influences from the typical recipes of the Cajun people.

Malta and Gozo

Malta is the Mediterranean in its purest form. It’s an archipelago composed of 21 islands, with Gozo and Malta itself being the most visited. The best option is to stay on the smaller, quieter island of Gozo. Imagine waking up in the morning, opening your window and seeing a stretch of blue sea glistening in the sun. The beaches are perfect for relaxing between dives. To the west is Inland Sea, a peculiar lake of water that connects to the sea through a natural tunnel formed in the rock. If you’re looking for a little more activity and atmosphere, you can take a ferry to Valletta, the capital of the island of Malta, which is also a World Heritage city. The nightlife is very lively and if you do an all nighter out partying, you can enjoy a splendid sunrise.

Cardiff

If you’re looking for a place to travel in July that lets you get away from the heat, Cardiff is the destination for you. It’s the capital of Wales and at this time of year the days are long, the climate is very mild and the skies vary constantly between grey and blue. There’s plenty to visit in Cardiff, starting with its many medieval castles like Chesptow, Carreg Cennen or Caerphilly.

Another must-see is Blaenafon, an industrial enclave that for years was an area of iron and coal extraction. It’s currently a World Heritage Site. Tenby is a small coastal town with medieval alleys and lots of charm. The Gower Peninsula is also a sight to see. Rhossili’s sunsets are stunning. If you fancy some time at the beach, you can head to the bay of Saint Brides. Of course, you can’t miss out on the chance to taste the different varieties of Welsh beers.

Mongolia

If you’re looking for something different, go ahead and visit the land of the relentless Genghis Khan. When you set your eyes on the immense steppes of Mongolia, your mind will move to the time when these nomadic and warlike tribes rode at a gallop to face other clans. Ulaanbaatar, the capital, offers a peculiar look with a medley of modern buildings, Soviet architecture and traditional nomadic tents, or gers.

Winters in this region of the world are particularly harsh, reaching temperatures of up to 30 degrees below zero and with strong winds. That’s why summer is the best time to visit Mongolia, as temperatures are usually around 20ÂșC. You can visit several natural parks and enjoy sport activities, lakes and impressive mountains, rock art and, of course, the incredible Gobi desert. The Naadam Festival takes place in July and includes several sports competitions.

Australia

Melbourne and Sydney are other top destinations for travel in July. Melbourne is the country’s cultural capital and the second city in terms of population. It has an enormous amount of gardens, which has given it the nickname “garden city”. It has multicultural neighbourhoods with great ethnic diversity, elegant streets, mountainous landscapes and spectacular views of the coast. You can enjoy various cultural events at any time of year.

Sydney, the capital, is a cosmopolitan and modern city that is in some ways similar to New York. The Rocks is the oldest neighbourhood and has a very European feel to it. It’s packed with museums, pubs, shops and restaurants. Another of its attractions are its more than 50 beaches and its diverse cultural offering. Don’t forget that although it’s winter in Australia during this month, temperatures remain mild, making it one of the best destinations to travel in July.
