Democratic Republic of Congo Children’s Village
Congo’s Children’s Village needs our support. In terms of numbers, this is the largest project undertaken by the ICC. Here, the children are nurtured both emotionally and physically to help them come to terms with their traumatic past experiences and eventually help them reach their full potential. Often epidemic levels of diseases and declining health care standards due to a lack of doctors
have caused much of the child homelessness in the Congo that the ICC aim to resolve. Confronted with civil war, the level of civilian suffering and instability has meant that the children who have been housed by the Children’s Village in Congo were amongst the neediest. Through our donations, children staying at the project receive a varied diet and warm shelter. Above all, the charity
focuses on creating a family environment that can act as a loving and joyful home for the children when they need it most. We have chosen this project because we believe that giving these children a second chance, through support and love, is an effective way to improve the future, not only for the children, but for the local communities as well.

ICC is a global charity, originally form in the United States in 1978, with the purpose of providing for the many homeless and orphaned children after the devastating Guatemala earthquake two years before. Since then the charity has spread globally and aims to be a source of comfort and safety to children who face such difficult circumstances at a young age. ICC do this by maintaining specialised Children’s Villages, in areas of need, where homeless children and orphans can find refuge and a sense of belonging.
